Commitment to Ethical Publishing
The Journal of Clinical Intensive Care and Medicine (JCICM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics. We strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
Responsibilities of Authors
- Submit only original work that has not been published elsewhere.

- Acknowledge funding sources and ethical approval for studies involving humans or animals.
- Ensure that all listed authors meet authorship criteria as outlined by ICMJE.
Responsibilities of Editors
- Make independent and fair editorial decisions without discrimination or bias.
- Maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Address ethical complaints and malpractice concerns swiftly and transparently.
- Ensure manuscripts are evaluated solely on scientific merit.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely feedback.
- Maintain confidentiality of reviewed materials.
- Disclose conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.
- Report suspected ethical misconduct such as plagiarism or data fabrication.
Publication Malpractice Prevention
JCICM takes all forms of malpractice seriously. Examples of misconduct include:
- Plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
- Data falsification or fabrication.
- Duplicate or redundant publication.
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest.
Any such violations will result in investigation and appropriate actions, which may include rejection, retraction, or reporting to relevant authorities.
Retractions and Corrections
If ethical breaches are confirmed, JCICM will issue formal retractions, corrections, or expressions of concern. All retraction notices are published openly and linked to the affected article to ensure transparency.
Ethics in Research
All human studies must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and require informed consent. Animal research must follow internationally recognized welfare guidelines. Proof of ethical approval from relevant committees must accompany submissions.
Handling Complaints
JCICM provides a transparent process for handling complaints. Concerns can be reported directly to [email protected]. All complaints are investigated following COPE’s flowcharts and procedures.
